5.0 out of 5 stars Magic in a tub for great value
I have 2 senior cats (13yrs old in 2 months), and inevitably as they age they’re developing health issues.

Ziggy has Feline IBD (think Crohns Disease or Ulcerative Colitis in humans) which I’ve managed to keep under control with a high protein diet, I feed him tinned food from Thrive and no dry food whatsoever, but whenever he brings up a hairball this aggravates his system and he’ll be vomiting for several days after, he’s a pretty furry cat but he only needs a small amount of fur in his sytem to set him off so it’s far more frequently than his brother brings up hairballs.

Tiggy has issues with his anal glands, this started about 6 months ago, he’d be scooting his bottom on the floor and licking a lot more than usual, he didn’t seem distressed and it would only be a day at a time, I didn’t know what it was at first but thought I’d just keep an eye on it. It kept happening about once a month and I noticed his stool was harder than usual and smaller, and a little smellier. The last time was different, he got very distressed and was really struggling with going to the toilet, I think it was causing some pain and his scooting became a bit frantic, so I did a bit of reading and figured it out as being his anal glands, so I took him off to the vet who confirmed and expressed the glands for him. Tiggy suffers anxiety pretty badly after we all lived in a violent household for some years (free now), and the trip to the vet really set off his anxiety, it was heartbreaking for me and so decided to have a look into any natural ways of managing these gland issues to avoid the distress of repeated vet visits.

I came across this and it looked promising coupled with reviews of success with anal gland issues. Plus, I actually have Crohns Disease myself and the human equivalent of this product is a drink called Fybogel, which is a safe fibre for intestinal issues so I immediately felt safe in trying this product for both of my boys issues. The way it works is that when it comes into contact with the liquid in the gut it becomes like a slimy gel which lubricates the intestines and helps waste to slide through without issue and without irritation, very helpful to avoid inflammation with IBD and puts less strain on the anal glands so they can settle down and start working properly too.

They’ve been having it now for about a month. Tiggy hasn’t had any issues with his glands whatsoever, his stool now looks normal and there’s more in the box (I never thought I’d be happy to have more poop to scoop), no scooting and no extra licking. He’s using the litter box without distress and without straining. I’d say I started noticing a real improvement after about 2 weeks of this daily.

For Ziggy, I gave him this in the hopes that he would start passing his hair in his stool rather than vomiting it up. So far so good, after a month there’s only been one hairball up and it was tiny, there wasn’t any repeated vomiting after from irritation either which is fantastic. It also seems to have helped his acid reflux which is a part of having IBD, as I’ve not noticed any on the floor since he started this.

I use half a scoop each day (for those who’ve said the scoop wasn’t in the tub, I thought the same when I opened mine, but I emptied the tub into another container and the scoop has actually settled to the bottom of the tub), I don’t add any water to it, just mix it in their food (my boys only have wet food) and they eat it all up, they took to it straight away so I’m guessing that it tastes good as Tiggy is more than a little fussy with food!

So far, I’ve been giving this to both boys every day for a month and we’ve used about a quarter of the tub, so it should last about 4 months, which considering the benefits and the price of the tub, it’s more than good value, and to see to happier furbabies makes it priceless

5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly for my dog
I’ve tried my dog on several different dog foods, but he has always needed additional fibre to firm up his poops. I’ve been using these as a solution for several months now and they have pretty much entirely fixed the issue, making his and especially my life much, much easier.

I mix the pellets with hot/boiling water to soften them up so I can mix in with his dry food – he is a fussy eater and isn’t a huge fan of these pellets by themselves, but mixed together with his main food he doesn’t seem to notice they are there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Miracle Stuff
Our senior cat had been constipated for months and wasn’t keen on the pumpkin I’d cooked down with water and chicken stock. He’d been to the vet twice and confirmed that he didn’t have a blockage, and the lactulose they prescribed only lasted a week or two – not enough to make a difference to his short, dehydrated poops that were really dark. I could see it was going to take several calls, trips and payments to buy enough lactulose from the vet to get him back to normal and didn’t wanna be dealing with that, so tried this. It’s an Online Exclusive at Pets at Home, so I trusted it based on their listing and reviews here, but needed it quickly so bought via Amazon.

Poor thing was trying in the litter tray but either came with nothing or had to try again later. He generally pooped once every 4-5 days, and even then not much came out. We weren’t sure if he was definitely constipated or doing his business outdoors until we had a string of bad weather and knew for sure, as he was indoors the whole time.

He doesn’t drink much water and hasn’t been playful for months (both would otherwise help bowel movements) – I think ’cause the constipation had been making him uncomfortable and lethargic…so it’s a catch-22 situation.

The pellets are bigger than expected, and don’t look appetising at all. 😅 They definitely don’t smell of beef flavouring, and he wouldn’t touch it solo. Like other reviewers, I blitzed it into a powder (using a stick blender) and keep it in a separate tub with the scoop for ease of use. We mash it into a ⅓ of his food with some water so it becomes a paste, then mix in the rest of his feed in chunks with salmon oil to give it a stronger smell. When we added/hid in the pellets as they were, he’d just eat around them.

It actually amounts to being quite a lot of bulk to their feed, but I guess if you use the full dose and they don’t eat it all, at least they have something. 🤷🏻‍♀️ There’s always a bit left over when he’s finished eating all the chunks that don’t have Pro-Fibre in it.

We gave half a dose to begin with and already the next day he was a little more sprightly. After a full dose the next day, he was back to eagerly following us with his feeding bowl and did a normal-looking poop for the first time in months! Super quick to work, and way cheaper than multiple small bottles of lactulose from the vet to get anywhere.

I think I’ll be adding ¼-½ dose into his feed from now on to maintain a healthy gut, so this doesn’t happen again. 🤗

5.0 out of 5 stars Great supplement
Added just to boost my dogs fibre intake and they both really like the taste, seems to help firm up their poops

5.0 out of 5 stars No idea what flavour they have
No idea what flavour they have, as my dog won’t tell me. That was an answer to; ‘Rate Features’ first question, for a dog supplement.
The product looks as advertised and our dog didn’t mind it being in her food bowl, it went down a treat. So, maybe the answer to feature one, flavour, is ‘dogilicious.’ I also want to say that the seller got these to me the next day, which is a rating of excellent for them. Time will tell if our dog continues to like this product. I hope so, as it will do her gut biome wonders. The best thing for us will be less smells from the opposite end to her head.

3.0 out of 5 stars No Scoop included
Disappointed that there was no scoop included, as stated on packaging. I tipped the whole tub out to check and there is none ?. Too soon to tell how the product works, but there is a lot of powder when you tip it and check the contents.

5.0 out of 5 stars So much cheaper than the vets
We had an issue with our dogs stools so went to the vets. They recommended a high fibre supplement which worked brilliantly but looked at the bill and was charged £26, so I thought I see if it was available else where ,found it really quickly through the search button it’s slightly different but only on a couple of amounts and it’s made no difference to his stools . He gets through a container a month so over a year this is a massive saving. 2 servings ,1 scoop in the morning and one in the evening as he weighs 22kg. Great savings and product

This product works well. Massive reduction in scooting and chewing paws. Doesn’t totally solve the problem though. I do sometimes get that fishy odour. And this product has gone up from £13 to £21 in two months

5.0 out of 5 stars Would highly recommend
My dog needed more fibre in his diet as I had changed his food, this was the perfect solution. I gave him one scoop, once a day mixed in with his food and it worked perfectly. He would even eat the small pellets from my hand. Would highly recommend and well worth the money. One pot lasts quite a while.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ridiculous cost for great product
It’s the only thing that keeps my dog regular but charging £25 for postage now is outrageous. I’ve gone to pets at home where it’s £14.50. Brilliant product , works for an old fussy deerhound with touchy digestion.
