Get rid of those ticks in one piece.
Where I live there are many fields which are left to grow wild for many months so when my dog goes through the grass I check her over for ticks and the like.
Ticks are horrid little critters which suck the blood from your dog … and, when you find one of a dog it’s not just a matter of pulling it out as you can leave the head attached to the dogs skin which could lead to infections. So they came up with these small, yet useful devices.
When it comes to ticks these do exactly what they are designed to do, and they do it well.
There is a little knack to using them properly but once you’ve got the hang of it you’ll be flying away.
You get three different sizes of tick removers, you just have to pick the one you need for the size of the tick. But they all do the same job and work the same way.
You simply push the forked edges around the tick, gently. As close to the skin as possible. Then, even more gently, you turn the device around, clockwise or anticlockwise, it doesn’t matter, just keep going the same way. Once you see the head of the tick moving you lever the tool away from the skin, gently, whilst still turning, slowly. The entire tick should then be clasped in the grip of this tool.
You can use tweezers but these do make it much easier to get the entire tick from the skin.
These are strong, well made and do exactly what they are designed to do.

You got ticks?
If your animal has ticks, then don’t bother – yes, cheaper than a visit to the vet, but in the UK you probably will never encounter tics. In the UK, either Pull a tic out on your vet’s advice, or go to the vets.

Useful simple tool! Cheap cracker prize???
These tick removers are good and useful little tools to have stashed in the man drawer and they definitely work.
I have removed a couple of ticks from both my cat and dog with easy using these, just make sure you select the right size and follow all instructions and the little nasties will get plucked from your animals skin with minimal effort and importantly minimal stress for your pets.
My only quibble is that these tools are literally just formed/shaped plastic and in my opinion overpriced for what you get. Saying that, the pricing seems average for this type of product so it’s an industry thing and not specifically the product sellers fault.
For items like this which are indeed literally ‘tools’ it would be nice for my tools to have more of a tool like quality instead of something which resembles the kind of thing you could get from a Christmas cracker and say to yourself, “hey that’s actually usefull, I’ll keep that!”
Ok, so that’s a little unfair as this product has clearly been made with more care than most cracker prizes but if feel my comment makes the point that for tools I personally prefer that little extra tool like feel and quality.
