Would highly recommend for using as a tie out stake for large strong dogs,we have just used it for a month while away with our 47kg dog and it didn’t budge from the ground.The swivel loop on it is great to stop.

Not so easy to get out of the ground which to me is a good thing,otherwise if the dog pulled it would probably just pull out.

Great way to keep my strong willed Bassett cross where I can see her. She managed to uproot a previous stake – not this one. Really helpful that it comes with an additional straight bit to help twist the stake into the ground.

This product is very *strong* and is sufficient to hold a large dog. It doesn’t move at all when fully screwed in and wont bend. It has no sharp edges and so you don’t have to worry cutting your toes if you stand on it in the garden. It seems very well made and has a thick coat of paint. I have bought another of these to put in the front garden.

Very well made stake for putting into the garden to anchor your dog. The construction is solid and the materials used feel premium. Its painted in a thick red paint (but also think you can also get this in blue) so I could see it clearly sticking out when inbeded in the garden. Very happy with my purchase.

Difficult to get in. Make sure you have a heavy peg/spanner of some sort to screw it in. Once it’s in it is pretty robust. Held our 9stone rottweiler all weekend (with some pulling) and no give.
Would recommend buying a wire/chain to use on it as well as my dog started to chew his fabric lead

If you ever take this out make sure you have a stick or something to turn the stake with! Once it’s in the ground though it works great, my lurcher took off on Dartmoor and managed to break the steel cable and anti shock spring that was attached to this at the time, the anchor stayed put though!

This dog tie out. Should be in every dog hiking owners backpack . It’s easy to use . Makes lunch time a joy . Sit knowing your dog is secure. The only improvement I could suggest to the suppliers is to provide a small metal bar to wind the stake into the soil and some lead attachments. I figured out my own. I use the device when out walking for the day. Basically it’s a garden or back yard securing device with a cable. I wouldn’t do that to a dog for a long period. For me as a dog lover this makes out door picnics or visits to friends houses so organised my Labrador completely accepts its use on walks.

We use this for our Tibetan terrier while camping. It took a bit of effort to screw it I to the ground / grass area and wouldn’t like to try it on hard standing. Once in the ground there was no movement even though he tries his hardest to budge it. Make sure the wire you buy to attach to the spike is sturdy as he tried to chew his way through ours but did not succeed. The spike is very robust, steady in the ground and has quite a weight to it. Time will tell but a good purchase so far.

This is a very sturdy spike. We had the dog’s lead through the red metal ring at the top, first time she saw another dog she charged and completely destroyed this metal ring, she’s 30kg, knocked over half the tent and went charging across the field. It’s quite difficult to get out as well. But I am impressed by how sturdy it is.

I’ll be honest, I’m always a little bit miffed when items arrive with dents, dinks, rips and scuffs on them. They are bound to get bumped during normal use, but when they arrive in this condition from the start it makes me suspicious, like I’m getting a secondhand item.
The top of the metal had a scuff so the bare metal beneath the black could be seen (see pic) and the bag has several small rips in it (see pic).
Another slightly annoying thing is that you need a solid bar or stick to wind this into the ground – why doesn’t it come with one? Just a thought!
Overall the item seems very solid and useable and I feel confident my dogs will enjoy our days out with this. But I was a little disappointed with the scuffs and rips.

The tether screws into the ground and would be very difficult to pull out but the ring to attach a lead is weak, poor quality steel not welded properly. A not very large labrador was able to pull the ring open.
